Another Alaskan adventure is under my belt. I've gotten to the point that I never say goodbye to the land that I love. Instead, it is a fond, "Farewell!" My heart is filled with gratitude for the administration that has given me the opportunity to bring The Last Great Race to my students, to the students who soak up the academic standards through all things Iditarod, to my dog-loving friend, Kelly, who shared my passion on this trip, and most importantly to my amazing husband who supports my obsession for adventure and--during the warm Alaskan summers--chooses to share it with me. From the warmth of the woodstove in my own home and four walls of my Liberty Elementary School classroom, there is no place I'd rather be once the race begins! Mush!!!!!

Thank you David, for the spiritual and financial sponsorship.

I hope my spirit of adventure will live in the hearts
of my students for generations to come.
