Greetings from Liberty Elementary School in Liberty, Indiana! I am Tamara Drudy, and I am proud to be teaching and learning alongside fourth students in a small rural school in Union County, IN. I was selected as an Iditarod Teacher on the Trail™ finalist in 2018. The Teacher on the Trail™ is an ambassador for the race and is privileged to share teaching ideas and race-related lessons for teachers and students all across the globe. It is here that my love for Alaska and those amazing sled dogs was nurtured.
I am equally blessed to have been named a National Education Association Learning and Leadership grant recipient for 2016. This grant sent me to Alaska to study the Iditarod, "The Last Great Race," during the Iditarod Summer Camp for Educators.
I offer my heartfelt thanks to the NEA Foundation for supporting me in my endeavors to "help us help kids know more."
